By registering an account and using our platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these T&Cs, which are guided by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, including the mandates of the Betting Control and Licensing Board.
Account Creation and Mandatory Verification

Participation in any betting or gaming activity on the 1Win Kenya platform is strictly prohibited for anyone under the age of eighteen (18) years. The Company reserves the absolute right to request proof of age at any time and may suspend or permanently terminate any account where there is a reasonable suspicion of underage gambling, with all associated transactions and winnings being voided.

In adherence to BCLB regulations and the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA), every User is required to complete our identity verification process.
- Required Documentation: You must provide truthful, current, and verifiable personal details, including your full name, date of birth, and a valid Kenyan National ID or Passport.
- Compliance Guarantee: You certify that the funds used for betting are legally obtained and not involved in any illegal activities.
Account Responsibility and Security
You are solely responsible for all activity conducted under your account credentials.
- Confidentiality: It is your responsibility to safeguard your account PIN, password, and username.
- Notification: You must notify 1Win Customer Support immediately upon becoming aware of any actual or suspected unauthorized use or security breach of your account.
Financial Policies and Transactions
Deposits and Withdrawal Protocols
We primarily facilitate transactions via Kenyan mobile money services (e.g., M-Pesa, Airtel Money) in Kenyan Shillings (KES).
- Matching Account Names: For anti-fraud and security purposes, all deposits must originate from a mobile number or financial account registered in the exact name of the 1Win account holder.
- Payout Security: Withdrawals will generally be processed back to the verified mobile number or account used for the last deposit, serving as an essential security and audit measure.
Mandatory Withholding Tax
As per Kenyan law, all gross winnings are subject to a mandatory 20% Withholding Tax.
- Automatic Deduction: 1Win Kenya automatically deducts this 20% tax from the payout amount at the time of withdrawal.
- Tax Remittance: The deducted amount is submitted directly to the Kenya Revenue Authority on your behalf. The amount you receive is the net payout after this government deduction.
Account and Transaction Fees
The Company aims to absorb standard transaction costs. However, we reserve the right to apply modest, administrative fees on deposits or withdrawals if they involve unusual transaction frequency or size that results in disproportionately high processing costs.
Betting Integrity and Rule Adjustments
Voiding and Cancellation of Bets
1Win Kenya reserves the right to declare a bet void (settled at odds of 1.0, returning the stake) under specific circumstances necessary to maintain fairness and operational integrity:
- Obvious Error (Palpable Error): Where the odds, handicap, or lines offered are clearly incorrect, reversed, or represent a significant departure from the genuine market price.
- Late Bets: Pre-match bets placed after the event has officially started will be cancelled, except for those placed on explicitly defined Live Betting/In-Play markets.
- Collusion/Syndicate Betting: If the Company has reasonable grounds to believe a group of users is acting together to gain an unfair advantage or exploit a promotion or error.
Postponements and Event Settlement
- 48-Hour Rule: If a scheduled sporting event is postponed or suspended after starting, all bets placed on that event will stand (remain valid) provided the event is completed within 48 hours of the original scheduled start time.
- Cancellation: If the event is not completed within this 48-hour period, or is permanently cancelled, all stakes will be fully refunded to the user's account.
Responsible Gaming and Account Management

- Self-Exclusion: Users may request a Self-Exclusion period, during which their account will be blocked from access for a predetermined duration (minimum 6 months).
- Setting Limits: We encourage users to utilize available tools to set financial limits on their deposits and stakes.
Termination and Suspension
- Company's Right to Terminate: We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or permanently terminate your account if you are found to be in material breach of these T&Cs, including the submission of fraudulent KYC documents or engagement in prohibited activities.
- User Termination: You may close your account at any time by formally notifying Customer Support. Note that mandatory data retention periods apply (as per our Privacy Policy) even after account closure.
Disputes, Complaints, and Governing Law
Internal Complaint Procedure
If you have a disagreement concerning bet settlement, financial transactions, or account status, you must follow this procedure:
- Submission: A formal written complaint must be submitted to the 1Win Customer Support team within seven (7) days of the occurrence of the event leading to the dispute.
- Required Detail: The complaint must clearly state the relevant bet ID or transaction reference, the date, time, and a comprehensive explanation of your grievance.
- Resolution: We commit to investigating and providing a formal response within fourteen (14) business days. The Company's recorded and audited transaction logs are considered the final authority in the settlement of any betting dispute.
External Resolution and Governing Law
If a dispute remains unresolved following our internal process, the User has the right to escalate the matter to the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) for final legal adjudication. These Terms and Conditions are governed by, and shall be interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
